The Roaming Buffalo

Along one of my many road trips, I came across The Roaming Buffalo. A violent storm had just passed over the edge of Badlands National Park in South Dakota. It was a slow day in the park, and with the weather being something most people would avoid, I found myself almost completely alone, driving through its winding roads. It was just me and the buffalo, both roaming after the storm.

When I came across this particular buffalo, I knew the moment was special. The yellow post-storm skies, the burly beard, the rough, rain-soaked fur, and the calm but intimidating stare—it all came together in a single frame. That photo became The Roaming Buffalo.

Now, I want to share it with the world. This traveling print is more than just a photo—it’s a way to explore and talk about nature, art, food, science, history, and everything else we encounter along the journey.
